Time To Improve Your Home’s Energy Efficiency

Is your energy consumption eating you up?Rising costs graphic

Does the sight of an energy bill shock you and fill you with dread?

Are really worried about what climate change will mean for your children and grandchildren?

So many of us are worried about rising costs…

But if you thought that the energy price rises you’re seeing now are bad, you won’t want to see what’s coming up!

Energy bills have been increasing because:

  • prices for fossil fuels have been increasing
  • ‘network costs’ – the costs of distributing power and gas (poles, wires, pipelines etc) – have also been increasing

But did you know that you can tame your energy consumption?”

I tamed my energy consumption.  So did Jenny.  So did Matthew.

This is the time to do it!

That’s because we’re coming up to the equinox.

In the southern hemisphere, it’s the autumn equinox.  Nights will become longer than days.  The weather will really start cooling down because there’s less sunlight to warm the earth and the air.  Perhaps you’re already already feeling a bit of a nip in the air.  (Here it was 4oC last night, and it’s taking longer for the days to warm up. :))  Daylight saving will end soon, and we’ll be spending more time indoors.

In the northern hemisphere, it’s the spring equinox.  Days will become longer than nights and temperatures will really start warming up.

Where I live, now is the best time of the year weatherwise because daytime temperatures are generally pretty pleasant.

These are the ideal conditions for making the little changes to your home that will dramatically improve your home’s energy efficiency…and make a HUGE difference to your energy bills.

And the upcoming Easter break gives us an extra few days to get a few things done around the home – as well as relax.

Till next time…be gentle to yourself and our world!
